- MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides 98%)
- Ideal for cooking, baking and frying
- Optimal fat source for diets
- Ideal before exercise
MCT oil is composed of medium-chain triglycerides, functional fatty acids extracted from coconut fat and palm oil.
Unlike other fatty acids, MCTs provide fewer calories than other fatty acids, at 8.3 kcal/g. Due to the shorter length of their fatty acid chains and the resulting functional properties, MCTs are highly appreciated by athletes as a source of energy and during dieting.
Benefits and functions of MCT oil in your metabolism
MCT oil contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), a special type of saturated fatty acid found mainly in coconut and palm oil, with exceptional functional properties. Although they are naturally present in foods, it is recommended to take an MCT oil supplement in order to obtain truly significant quantities of this functional fat and avoid the undesirable substances that accompany foods, notably other fatty acids.
MCTs are structurally distinct from other saturated fats, which are generally considered less healthy than unsaturated fatty acids and, among other things, tend to be fattening. They are much shorter than other saturated and unsaturated fats. Because of this structure, which gives them their name, they have only 8.3 kcal per gram instead of 9 kcal (like other fatty acids), and are therefore very interesting as a source of rapidly available energy for people with fat digestion problems (low lipase enzyme activity), as well as for people with a conscious lifestyle.
How to use MCT oil:
Take 15 ml of MCT oil daily.
For energy reasons, take MCT oil preferably 30 minutes before training.
Slowly increase the amount of MCT oil ingested so that your digestion can get used to it, and don't heat MCT oil to over 130° C, otherwise its special structure will be destroyed.
Directions for use
MCT oil should not be used to replace omega-3 fatty acids or CLA and EPA / DHA / GLA, but rather as a supplement. Ideally, athletes on a very low-calorie diet, or on a "ketogenic" or "anabolic" diet, should consume around 15 ml of MCT oil a day to get the most out of the fatty acids' functionality.
Recipe: bulletproof coffee with MCT oil
Bulletproof coffee is a morning energy booster drink designed to stimulate the brain and boost energy, and is mainly used in diets such as the Paleo diet.
To prepare: about 200 ml coffee, 1 tablespoon unsalted butter and 1-2 tablespoons MCT oil briefly mixed in a shaker.
Bulletproof coffee contains around 441 kcal and 50 grams of fat and is consumed for breakfast. A cup of Bulletproof coffee provides a high dose of immediately available energy. As a result, the brain receives energy that does not come from sugar, and cravings disappear, preventing snacking and promoting weight loss.
Please note: Bulletproof café should not be used over a long period of time. What's important is a balanced diet that supplies the body with all nutrients in sufficient quantities.
KETO coffee, an improved, healthier version of bulletproof coffee:
- 1 large cup of coffee 1
- tablespoon MCT oil (better than coconut oil, which contains only 20% MCT)
- 1/2 tablespoon clarified butter.
- (Butter that has been heated, skimmed and stripped of its dairy ingredients - lactose and casein) 1
- tablespoon cocoa powder ( Antioxidants and flavonoids )
- a few grains of pink Himalayan salt ( 84 minerals )
As its name suggests, it can be used as part of a keto ( ketogenic ) diet.
